Over the last twenty years, the City of Eugene has been collecting photos and working with Black residents to compile this collection of stories and images. This year, the city decided to create a series of large educational posters using these materials to educate Eugene residents and visitors about Lane County’s Black history. Acid Camp was born out of a desire to showcase talented creators throughout dance music while encapsulating the relationships that have been formed through their craft in a unique and immersive way. Holding true to a standard of “searching for paradise on the dance floor,” Acid Camp has heavily evolved since its fruition. About ↘
About Us
Cookhouse is an intentionally small, two person creative studio founded by Danielle Davis and Kate Smith.
Danielle has a background in graphic design and illustration. Before founding Cookhouse, she was a practicing designer in Los Angeles and spent time as an in-house designer at the Oscars and Walt Disney. She is now raising a family and permanently residing amongst the flora and fauna of the Northwest where she grew up. In her spare time, she is building elaborate meals from scratch, working on ceramics, dancing and playing with friends.
Kate fell into design from an art, film, and costuming background. She cofounded Cookhouse as a natural extension of her creative practice. She loves world building and connecting people through art and image making. She is an obsessive researcher, writer, and systems creator. When she isn’t working, she is part-time farming and cooking up projects at home. She also runs the Kesey Farm Project.
For certain projects, we will bring in talented friends to help us. Our regular collaborators include Justin Cole Smith (photography), Jo Minor (illustration), and Aaron Davis (e-commerce and backend web support).
We try to make work as fun as possible. We go into projects with an open mind and treat each one as a unique, exciting, collaborative learning experience. We hope to build lasting and impactful relationships. Get in touch with us here.
